JOHN DAVIS, CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

(Grand Junction, CO) – The Republican Party of Texas has confirmed that John Davis has complied with the necessary requirements and will be listed on the Republican Presidential Primary Ballot in the State of Texas. The primary election is scheduled for May 29th. “Republican voters in large numbers continue to say they are looking for a candidate with business experience but is not a career politician. As Mr. Davis takes his message of character, faith and family to the voters, Texans have been very receptive to the message and supportive of Mr. Davis. We believe there is an opportunity for the campaign to finally gain national attention” said campaign spokesman Duncan McArthur.

To date, the John Davis Votercade has visited 1,981 counties in 42 states across the country including all 254 counties in Texas. “We have enjoyed traveling the entire state of Texas and meeting the people from both ends of this great state” said John Davis. “We continue to hear the voters say they want a real change in leadership. They want someone who knows what they have gone through these last four years because that person has gone through it too.”

For the Texas Presidential Primary, John Davis will take his Votercade campaign back to Texas and again visit every county in the state. “Many of the cities and towns we will visit have never had a visit from a presidential candidate. What we consistently hear from these voters is that they don’t want someone who is just going to try to buy their vote. We will do what it takes to meet as many people as possible and actually listen to their concerns. We plan to earn their votes” continued Davis.

We completed our tour of Texas counties and Texas has been good to us. We’re on the primary ballot in Texas scheduled for the end of May and so we’re going to cover the Texas counties again. I’m still convinced none of the other candidates has the business experience necessary to do what it takes to run this country. Nobody out there that we’ve met is happy with them, either. A lot of the people out there that we’ve been talking to want someone with business experience and someone who isn’t a career politician. If you have suggestions for where to meet in Texas, please e-mail or call our office. Also, if you can help spread the word, we’d appreciate. Our biggest task now is getting people to get out there and vote!

Do we need further proof for getting “the change” out and getting our country back to what’s right? Not only does the current administration have a way of going against the Constitution, but now he keeps trying to slide things past Congress.

We are not a dictatorship or a monarchy for a reason. We don’t want one person or group controlling our country. People have fought for specific freedoms on the battlefield and now we have to fight for them by standing up for what is right. We have a long-standing system of checks and balances and a structure to the government that outlines a government for the people and by the people–not by the guy with the most power who persuaded people four years ago that he could “change” America for the better. I’d say “change” is not what we need.

We have a great country that we have to fight for. Americans, get out there and stand up for what is right. That’s the main reason I’m out here, traveling to every county in the country. I want to hear from the people right where they’re at and then work hard to fix America and get us back to the great country we are–NOT squeezing socialist ideals in wherever I can, NOT making unprecedented appointments when congress should be the ones approving it, and NOT pushing through healthcare bills that steal away religious freedom and tie up the courts to invalidate it. What happened to a leader of the country leading with honesty, integrity and in line with the constitution? Let’s take back America and return it to greatness!

I won’t be swayed from where I stand on those issues. There’s too many people in Washington that are easily swayed. They don’t seem to stand firm on anything or they’re on one side of the fence one minute and on the other the next, and before you know it, our leadership starts sinking and taking us all down with them. As Americans, we have to take a stand and stick to it. It’s not going to be easy to bring this country around to greatness, but if we don’t stand up for what’s right and do the right thing right now, it’s going to be even harder to turn things around.

On the subject of healthcare: There’s a lot of work to be done. I think doctors need to be able to own their own clinics and be able to compete with the hospitals. Health insurance needs to be able to cross state lines and bring prices down. There also has to be local court reform to get rid of exorbitant lawsuits–I’m in favor of laws that protect patients, but some of the lawsuits are getting out of hand and the cost comes back to consumers in the form of insurance premiums. But the bottom line is that we need to make the environment competitive to keep prices down.

I may not be able to compete with the media coverage the frontrunners gain, but I’d bet there’s no one who has a shot at going to every county and talking to people face to face like we have. We started in January of 2011 by bus because we didn’t have the budget to do it by air. I think at this point, even if someone had the money to fly to every county in the country, there’s no way they could do it. And yes, we have hit some counties where we missed people, but we tried. Please check our tour schedule and see if we’re headed near you soon. If there’s a gap in location, please let us know if you have any suggestions.

Fifty years ago the dollar was better than gold and it’s been on the decline. We need to strengthen the dollar, but we can’t do it by printing more dollars. We do it by strengthening the economy in this country. I’ve heard people say that we need to get another world currency and that we’re close to losing the dollar as the world currency. I don’t agree with that.
The dollar is still strong even though it is declining in value. It’s still the best one out there. But if we don’t start strengthening the dollar, it will be replaced and then it will be twice as hard to bring the country around economically. There are lot of things we need to do right off and we can’t keep putting it off. If someone is drowning in the water, you can’t take time to go talk to people or do other things. You have to jump in the water. You have to do things immediately. Drastic times call for drastic measures. We have to do it now.
Complacency is the worst disease in this country that we have. We have to start strengthening that dollar right now. I don’t believe there’s any other currency out there that’s not in trouble of declining in value one way or another, but the dollar is tied to the economy in the United States.

In the 1800s and early 1900s, we had and industrial revolution. We were king of the world. We were on top. But we’ve lost half our country. But we need to have a new industrial revolution. We need to start making things in America. We need to make assets. Right now, all our direction is in service work and we can’t grow the economy with service work. We have to build the economy with assets by building things like homes, motorcycles, TVs, furniture, building dams, building road structures. We have to make the atmosphere right for manufacturing firms.
We have to get the wages in alignment with everyone else in the country. We can’t have a certain sector of people making twice as much as others in the country. And yes, I’m pointing my finger at the unions and the Davis-Bacon wages through the department of labor. It needs to be free enterprise and it needs to have a self correction.
The wages are one of the biggest reasons these companies are leaving America for other countries. We have to be aware of the problem and fix the problem. I don’t want to take the wages down to where you can’t afford to feed your family or have a decent life, but I don’t want to have people charging twice as much as their neighbor is making for the same thing. It has to be free enterprise.
We have to have technology. Technology leads manufacturing also. If we don’t have the edge on technology, that reduces the manufacturing in this country. That all goes back to the education of our kids. If we’re not putting out the number one kids in the world and the number one education to invent these new technologies, then we’re losing out to other countries. The education process in this country is vitally important many of the chapters in this book and also to the new industrial revolution.

It seems like it’s always a fight of the environ-mentalists against the people and cost of goods sold. We hear a lot these days about wind energy and solar and I’m totally for it. But wind energy and solar are future energies. They are not current energy sources is that are economically done. The only reason these wind farms have gone in is because the federal government is subsidizing them. We can’t afford to do it right now. Even though we’d like to do it and keep putting in a wind energy and solar, but we have to put it off for a little while. They don’t pay for themselves right now.
We need to drill in the gulf, but we need to protect the environment. We can live together. We can exist together. We can pull energy out without hurting the environment. But we can’t over or under regulate it. It has to be right in the middle. I think the spill in the gulf could’ve been averted. I think there were 12 countries (just guessing) that offered us our skimmers and we refused. If we’d have had their skimmers over here working 24 hours a day from other countries, that spill wouldn’t have been nearly as bad.
What we need to do is put a fund together from every barrel of oil and have three or four large skimmers ready to go anywhere any time for cleanups. That’s what we do with hazmat teams in towns with trucks and a team to clean it up. And it’s paid for by whomever is responsible for the spill, if we charge so much per barrel, it would pay for itself. But we need to put it in process. Does that mean we will never have a spill? There’s always something that will go wrong, but you try to plan for it. If we’d have had a plan for the clean up, then the gulf spill would’ve been a lot better off.
When we spend roughly a trillion dollars for petroleum in this country, if we would drill that out of our own ground, imagine how many jobs that would create in this country. It could be the single thing that starts our country back. It doesn’t mean we have to stop buying oil from other countries, but we need to drill enough to make the price go down.
Right now we are too dependent on other countries. A lot of them don’t like us, but when we give loans to other countries like Brazil to drill for oil and guarantee that we’ll buy their oil, I have problems with that. That’s not for Americans. The leader through foreign affairs should be out for one thing and that’s to protect America’s people and economy. I don’t see that happening right now. I would let the permits go through in a reasonable time and let’s start being energy independent, but let’s do it in a safe manner.
A lot of people are trying to cut down the coal fired generators. I do believe they’re polluting the air and we have to put controls on them. We don’t want to shut them down, but we don’t want them ruining the environment. I’m okay with coal fired electrical plants, but they have to put scrubbers on their stacks to a degree that they’re not harming the environment. They don’t have to put it back cleaner than they found it, but they have to have it clean. Coal is way cheaper than wind or solar. Natural gas is a good clean energy. We have a lot of natural gas in this country and we need to start using it.
Most of the counties I go to and talk to people, the ones where unemployment is lower is where they have oil and gas drilling. Another is where they have an agricultural industry (farming). So that should tell us something. Those two things are what I’ve found to have the best economies. But we need to bring the housing industry back because one house puts hundreds and hundreds of people to work. Two things are key to bring the economy back around: energy and housing.
