“I will serve my Country and it’s people with integrity

and I will do what I say I will do,

even when no one is looking.”

I believe the core values needed by to be an effective leader are:

 Honor * Accountability * Integrity

Common Sense * Loyalty * Truth * Passion * Servanthood

What Makes a President?

What makes a United States president? Does a mold make a president? If we had a mold, we could mold a president. But which mold would we choose? Would we all agree on the same mold?
What makes a president? Is it looks? Some people think looks are very important. To others, looks aren’t so important? Should the president of the United States be a master of speech? A man with a silver tongue? Surely this would be important. Should he be a big man? A thin man? Tall or short? Would we all like him to be head and shoulders above the crowd? I’m positive that this would be a plus. What about a beard? Lots of hair? Bald? I think the majority of people would say a distinguishing beard with wavy hair.

“What color should he be? I know the answer to this one.

It’s the great American color: red, white and blue.”

How about IQ? Should a president be someone so smart he or she can’t communicate with the people of the nation? Or should he have a lower IQ so as to understand the simple things in life? Or perhaps an average IQ and able to understand a little bit of both?

Should he or she have a degree with a big title behind his name? Should the president of our country have a big well-known name with no title? What experience should he or she have?
Maybe experience of being president? How do you gain presidential experience without being president of the United States. How do you get on the job training?

Perhaps a president gains training from life experience on the way to the white house? Do you get life experience from your mom, dad, grandpa and grandma, wife, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, grandkids, or maybe neighbor kids. What about pastors, friends, coaches, God? Or maybe from everyone you meet?

What temperament should a president have? A mild temperament that pleases everybody? Or a hot one so no one pushes him around? How about decision making? Does he make a decision too fast or too slow? Good decisions or bad ones? Right ones or wrong ones? Fair ones or unfair ones? Good for everyone? Bad for everyone? Hard ones? Easy ones? What about when it involves people’s lives? Should he be a rich man? Successful? Wealthy? Or not? Single? Married? Kids? No kids? Should a president’s personality be outgoing or quiet? Loving? Unloving? Likeable? Unlikeable? Firm? Soft? Should he have a deep voice? Or a high voice? How about talking a lot? Better yet, should a president listen more than he talks? Perhaps even listen with his heart? Or better yet, speak with his heart?

Here’s what I think. I think the president needs to be a good follower before he can become a good leader. He needs to have a lot of life experiences, such as, wife and kids, maybe six kids to be exact — and four grandkids. Maybe he should be self-employed or run his own business for many years. He may have some failures along the way too.

The United States president needs to have  common sense, to be a problem solver, an attitude to “get-er-done”. We need someone who is not a career politician, someone who doesn’t want to be president but wants to serve his country… get in, get out.

“He needs to be honorable, have integrity and accountability. He must rule with common sense, speak with truth, walk with loyalty, have an attitude of servanthood and a heart of passion to serve his country. He needs to be color blind. And, last but not least, a man of God.”
